Car insurance in Miami, compared across Florida carriers

CityCoast Insurance is a licensed 2-20 independent agency in Miami. We shop your auto coverage with multiple Florida carriers, explain exactly what the state requires, and help you decide what is worth adding.

What Florida law requires

Every registered vehicle in Florida must carry at least $10,000 in PIP and $10,000 in PDL. Here is what each coverage actually does — and where most Miami drivers are underinsured.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) — $10,000

Florida is a no-fault state. PIP pays 80% of covered medical bills and 60% of lost wages for you and household members, regardless of who caused the crash. You generally need to be treated within 14 days of the accident for benefits to apply.

Property Damage Liability (PDL) — $10,000

Pays for damage you cause to someone else's vehicle or property. It does not repair your own car.

Bodily Injury Liability — optional but recommended

Florida does not require BI for most drivers, but $10,000 of PDL rarely covers a serious at-fault crash. BI protects your assets when injuries exceed the other driver's PIP.

Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist

Florida has one of the highest uninsured-driver rates in the country. UM coverage steps in when the at-fault driver has no insurance or too little of it.

Comprehensive & Collision

Required by nearly every lender or leasing company, and the only coverage that repairs your own vehicle after a collision, theft, flood, or hurricane damage.

Why Miami drivers work with us

  • Miami-Dade traffic density, storm exposure and uninsured drivers push rates above the Florida average — carrier choice matters more here than almost anywhere else.
  • We are an independent agency, so we compare multiple Florida carriers side by side instead of quoting a single company.
  • Licensed 2-20 general lines agency with 10+ years serving Miami drivers and families.
  • Bundle auto with homeowners, condo, renters or flood for multi-policy savings.
  • Same-day quote follow-up, in English or Spanish.

What we need for a quote

  1. Your ZIP code and the drivers on the policy
  2. Year, make and model of each vehicle
  3. Current coverage limits, if you have a policy today
  4. Whether the vehicle is financed or leased
